Summer Session II in the Writing Lab
Writing Lab tutors can help all Augsburg students, even in the summer. Visit them on the street level of Lindell Library, just left of the circulation desk. Online help is also available with permission. Summer hours are Mondays and Thursdays from 4:30-7 p.m. through the end of the second summer session, Thursday, August 18.

Public Art Invitational for Artists/Design Teams
The Art and Identity Committee is excited to share a new art and design opportunity with Augsburg alumni, staff, and faculty. A team comprised of faculty, alumni, staff, and art consultants are working to bring beauty and inspiration into the Hagfors Center for Science, Business, and Religion, and you're invited to participate.
Augsburg has engaged Forecast Public Art to facilitate the commissioning of art works for the new Hagfors Center for Science, Business, and Religion. You are invited to submit qualifications to be considered for this opportunity.

The deadline for RFQ submission is July 19, 2016; all required materials must be received by 4 p.m. CDT. The Augsburg Art and Identity Committee will review applications and select up to 20 finalists to participate in a concept development phase.
The Art and Identity Initiative's charge is to bring expression to the guiding principles for the new Center and Augsburg's aspirations for a 21st century urban campus. Through art and identity, the Center's key interior elements and exterior spaces will illustrate a sense of beauty, harmony with place and a commitment to hospitality. As a way to express the transformative impact of the Hagfors Center for Science, Business, and Religion, Augsburg will commission numerous works of art. Each piece will be commissioned through philanthropic sponsorship and displayed in various locations within this new signature academic building.

Food Service Hours
Einsteins is open from 7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., with a Condensed Menu.
Nabo is open from 4-8 p.m., with assorted sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and beverages.
The Commons is open from 7:30-8:45 a.m. for Breakfast, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. for Lunch, and 5-6:30 p.m. for Dinner.

MFA Summer Residency - Readings and Screenings
The MFA in Creative Writing 2016 Summer Residency will be held Thursday, July 21 through Sunday, July 31. Please join us in welcoming our group of very talented students and acclaimed writers to campus for this festival of craft talks, workshops, evening readings and more.
This summer's visiting writers include Jacob M. Appel, winner of the Howling Bird Press Fiction Book Award; travel, science and nature writer Greg Breining; poet Sean Hill; and screenwriter and producer Michael Starrbury. In addition, nine graduating MFA students will be giving public readings of their works - Jennifer Holznagel, Mary Lewis, Ginny Contreras Sawyer, Katherine L Berger, Kevin Matuseski, Kirk Boettcher, Michelle Doege, Jodi Napiorkowski and Jeremy Bandow. We invite you to join us for these evening readings/screenings and receptions, at which our visiting writers will be available to sign their works. All events are free and the public is invited.

Augsburg Hosts Vigil Friday, Community Action Gathering Next Week
Our hearts are again heavy learning of the shooting of Philando Castile by a police officer this week during a traffic stop and further saddened by the violence that took place last night in Dallas.
It is well past the time to offer only thoughts and prayers. It is time for each of us to examine our role in addressing the continued racial disparities and gun violence in Minnesota and in our nation. To encourage and support this reflection and questioning, Augsburg College will host two gatherings. Join us at:
-- 6 p.m., Friday, July 8 at Luther Seminary in the Chapel of the Incarnation, Olson Campus Center, 1490 Fulham St., Saint Paul, for a prayer vigil that will conclude with a walk to the site of the shooting, on Larpenteur Avenue, near the north entrance to the State Fairgrounds. This vigil is hosted by Augsburg College, Luther Seminary, Lutheran Social Services, and the Saint Paul and Minneapolis Area Synods of the Lutheran Church.

Join Us for a Nice Ride Bicycle Tour
Ever see the green Nice Ride bikes around town? Wonder how to get one and where you can go on it? Curious how Nice Ride could be used to supplement your current commute to campus?
Join Augsburg colleagues and our host, Transit for Livable Communities, on July 15 for a post-lunch bicycle tour with Nice Ride Minnesota. Learn the ins and outs of the Nice Ride bikeshare system in a safe and fun environment - we'll give you your very own Nice Ride helmet as a post-ride souvenir, and teach you how to check out and return one of the green bikes. We'll travel the bike routes around Augsburg as we take an approximately 3 mile bike ride through the Seward neighborhood and the University of Minnesota. Meet at the Oren Gateway Center at 12:30 p.m. and return by 2 p.m. Maximum of 10 participants.

House to share with one adult female and two small dogs.
$500.00/month plus $500.00 damage deposit.
In a quiet neighborhood near the Lake St. Bridge and East River Road, many restaurants, a lovely bike ride to Augsburg. Also near the East Lake Street bus line.
Female graduate student preferable, but will consider younger student. Private bathroom, use of entire house. All furniture, bedding, towels, etc. provided.
No smoking, no cats.
No garage but lots of parking on the street.
