Craft Supply Drive for Children's Hospital

Kids in hospital rooms, waiting rooms, and outpatient clinics all find comfort and enjoyment in having something fun to do, and crafts are a great option! For this reason, crafts supplies are in constant demand at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. They are handed out to patients in these various areas and are available to inpatients and their siblings in the unit playrooms.

The students in Tri-Beta, the biological honors society, are collecting craft items for the U of M Masonic Children's Hospital Tuesday, January 19 - Friday, January 29. We are hoping to collect enough supplies to put together several kits, ready to be handed out to children of all ages at the hospital.

Below are some of the items we are looking for, though others would be great, too. All items must be new and unused. By hospital guidelines, we cannot accept items that may be dangerous to children, nor can we take glitter, live feathers, pasta, beans, latex balloons, leaves, moss, or dirt.
- Crayons
- Markers
- Colored pencils
- Construction paper
- Coloring books/pages
- Pom-poms
- Pipe cleaners
- Googly eyes
- Tissue paper
- Stickers
- Foam stickers/pages
- Popsicle sticks
- Straws
- String
- Clothes pins
- Bendy Straws
- Glue sticks or Elmer's glue

Boxes for item collection can be found in Christensen Center and in the Biology Suite (2nd Floor) of the Science Hall. Thank you for your support of the U of M Masonic Children's Hospital and of Tri-Beta. If you have any questions, please contact Kelsey Merck (merckk@augsburg.edu) or Heather Hultquist (hultquis@augsburg.edu).
