Bike for a 10-year-old?

Our 10-year-old neighborhood friend just got his bike stolen and was wondering if anyone has an old bike that they're ready to pass on. His former bike was BMX style, but he's interested in getting a mountain bike next. Let me now if you can help him out. Thanks!
