New Copier Equipment Coming

The Augsburg copier equipment lease ends soon and you will see replacements arriving around the end of June. Usage over the past year has been analyzed, and we are bringing in new equipment to fit department area needs. The new equipment has the same familiar Canon brand with the latest, improved technology. Consequently, the new equipment will be familiar to you, and we will be providing training to ensure a smooth transition. One new feature you will enjoy is that black & white copiers are able to SCAN in COLOR! As we continue our efforts to be 'Green by 2019', we hope you will scan more and copy/print less!

Our analysis also revealed that faxing is infrequently used. This probably is not a surprise with the technical improvements around security, email, and scanning. Faxing is a costly feature for every copier to carry. Consequently, we will add the feature to a few select and strategically located machines, so that if you must fax, you won't have too walk far. Please let me know if you must receive hard copy faxes along with the frequency with which you need to do so. We will select a location and provide you with specific faxing instructions. If someone asks for your fax number, ask them if they can scan to your email instead. If you are used to faxing, ask if you can scan to their email. Please remove your fax number from your business card the next time you submit an order.

Event Announcements

Youth Theology Institute

This week 20 high school students from around the region are participating in the annual Augsburg College Youth Theology Institute (ACYTI) with the theme of "Navigating the Intersection of Science and Theology". The students will spend the week engaging in classroom instruction led by Nathan Hallanger and exploring community-based experiences supported by other Augsburg faculty and staff. As you see the students around campus, please feel free to say hi and to ask them about what they are learning! Following their time at Augsburg, the students will spend the summer writing an essay on a topic of their choice related to the theme. These papers will be compiled in an online journal to be published in the fall.

More information about ACYTI is available online: http://www.augsburg.edu/acfl/overview/

The Augsburg community is welcome to attend a closing worship with the group and their families at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21 in the chapel. Special guest AGAPE*( http://hiphopoutreach.com/ ) will be leading worship.
