2011-20012 Auto Insurance Cards

Facilities and Risk Management has received the new Automobile Insurance cards for September 1, 2011-September 1, 2012.

I have the card available as a pdf document. For individuals or departments requiring a copy of this new card, please email draus@augsburg.edu and I will return a copy of the pdf document as a response to your request.

A copy of proof of automobile insurance needs to be in every Augsburg owned vehicle [glove box].

For individuals renting vehicles on behalf of Augsburg business, it is required to carry a copy of the proof of insurance as the College's insurance program covers non-owned vehicles. Please note when renting a vehicle for Augsburg business you should always decline the insurance offered by the rental company.

If you have any questions about the College's risk insurance program [not including benefits], please feel free to contact David Draus [X1033]

Event Announcements

Audition for Fall Theater Production: Marat/Sade

Augsburg Theater Department’s Fall Main Stage Theater Auditions.
Monday, Sep. 12, and Tuesday Sep. 13.

Casting 12-18 people

The Augsburg Theater Arts Department will hold auditions for its main stage production, Marat/Sade by Peter Weiss, directed by Darcey Engen. Auditions will be held in Tjornhom-Nelson Theater, in Foss Center, Monday, Sep. 12, 6:30-9:30 and Tuesday Sep. 13, 3:30-6:00. An audition sign-up sheet will be posted on the Tjornhom-Nelson Theater door in the Atrium of the Foss Center.

All Augsburg students are welcome to audition! Audition monologues are available at the Theater secretary desk in the Campus Ministry Office in Foss Center. Please choose and carefully prepare 2 monologues from those provided. Copies of the play are on reserve in the library. It is recommended that you read the entire play in order to have a sense of the tone of the piece and the nature of the characters.

DIRECTOR’S NOTE: Some of the characters you might perform for your audition are inmates in the asylum. Avoid playing any kind of psychological or emotional conflict. Instead perform the character as clearly as you can. Understand what the character wants and why they want it. If you understand this, you'll be able to make bold choices in the words you say and the gestures and movements you make.

 Please arrive at the audition site at least 20 minutes before your scheduled audition time. Those who arrive after their scheduled time may not be allowed to audition.
 Please wear appropriate attire to auditions. (I.e. dress accordingly as they would for a professional audition. No flip-flops, t-shirts, crop tops, halter tops, etc.)
 Please bring to auditions a complete list of all conflicts you may have with the rehearsal and performance schedule including work, classes, social commitments (such as weddings, anniversaries, etc.) and ensemble performances. Actors should declare all known conflicts at the time of the general audition.

Call-back auditions will be held Wednesday, Sep. 14 from 6:30pm-9:30pm.
Rehearsals will begin September 19, rehearsal hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday 6:30pm-10:00pm and Tuesday, Thursday 3:15pm-6:15pm. Performance dates are November 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13

Description of Marat/Sade:
Its best known as Marat/Sade, but Peter Weiss' play actually bears the lengthy title, The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton under the Direction of The Marquis de Sade. Within France's Charenton Asylum a number of years after the French Revolution, the Marquis de Sade stages his play about the murder of a key figure in the revolution, Jean-Paul Marat, using his fellow asylum inmates as actors. As the performance begins, the bourgeois asylum director watches as inmates use the play to rail against post-revolutionary privilege. Chaos arises as the play within a play disintegrates into anarchy.

Nanny Needed

Looking for someone on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 12:30 until 3:30 or 4.
The individual would need to have a car and pick my daughter up at school (Mayflower church/Mpls/right off of 35W on Diamond Lake Road) and bring her to our house until I got home.
We live only a couple miles from the church.
My daughter actually still naps so this would be a pretty easy gig---great time to study!!
I can pay around $8/hour so it would be about $50-60/wk. NEGOTIABLE!
I know these hours might be tough for a college student--maybe I would need two different people??
