First Wednesday Gathering
Faculty and staff are invited to First Wednesday Gathering lunch tomorrow, June 1, in the East Commons from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
The security and custodial night shift employees are also invited to the Wednesday Evening Gathering at 8 p.m. in the Augsburg Room.
The first-Wednesday-of-the-month gatherings support our commitment to building community and practicing common work. They are an opportunity to get to know one another, exchange ideas, and collaborate in new ways. We hope you will invite your colleagues and plan to join us!

Keeping Track of Auggies
Boecher Receives MRAC Grant
Susan Boecher (Art Faculty) received a $10,000 Arts Learning grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council to teach a four-week youth photography workshop in July at Augsburg.
Funded for the second year, the workshop will partner with Centro, an area social service nonprofit that serves Metropolitan Latino and Chicano communities, with 5 Augsburg photography students will assist Boecher in teaching 35mm black and white film to 10 teens from Raices'/Roots, a youth development program for high-risk Latino youth.
The workshop will introduce students to the technical and artistic skills of 35mm black and white film and use themes of identity, culture, and place as assignments. Lectures will include artists whose creative work examines identity.
In August students will present their completed work as a public exhibition at Centro, located in the Phillips Community. Centro and each of the students will also receive a printed class portfolio book to share with family and friends.
