Public Safety and Facilities Announcements

No Parking Even Side of City Streets

WINTER PARKING RESTRICTIONS NOW IN EFFECT FOR THE CITY OF MINNEAPOLIS

High snow accumulations can narrow streets, making them harder for fire trucks, ambulances and other emergency vehicles to navigate. When that happens, Winter Parking restrictions are enacted. These restrictions prohibit parking on the even numbered side of streets designated as non-Snow Emergency Routes until April 1, or until conditions warrant a lifting of the ban.

Please visit: http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/snow/ for more information and for the "street look-up" maps to assist you with identifying odd/even sides of street in your area.

People parking in Minneapolis must follow these parking restrictions, or they could be ticketed and towed:
Friday, Dec. 17th- Winter Parking Restrictions begin
Beginning at 8 a.m., parking is prohibited on the EVEN side of non-Snow-Emergency-routes. Parking is allowed on Snow Emergency routes, parkways and the ODD side of non-Snow Emergency-routes.

The Augsburg Public Safety website will have a map of our campus with highlighted "no parking" areas. Please visit www.augsburg.edu/dps to view the map. There are also signs posted at the main entrances of the college. If you are inviting visitors to campus, please make sure they are aware of the restriction. Visitor permits can be requested from Public Safety. http://www.augsburg.edu/dps/visitor_parking.html

Augsburg College Parking permits are available for purchase through Parking Services on Augnet. For questions on purchasing a permit, please contact parking@augsburg.edu

General Announcements

Need Welcome Dinner Hosts for New Int'l Students

We are in need of 2 more hosts to provide welcome dinners for some of the incoming international students (Norway, Finland, Germany, France, Yemen, Madagascar and Uganda).

Hosts would pick up their students in the Urness/Mort lobby between 5:00-5:30pm on Friday, January 14, and return them to campus any time after dinner. You may join forces with another faculty/staff member if you wish. We generally send 3-6 students per host; just let us know how many you would like to have.

The only task is to provide a meal and welcoming space in a home environment. If you're interested, drop a note to porter@augsburg.edu or call x.1686. This is always a highlight for both students and faculty/staff!
