Help Needed: Study Tables for Sophomore Success

Mortensen Hall is comprised of 60% sophomore students. This year, the RHD for Mortensen Hall, Ali Pickens, has embarked on a Sophomore Success initiative in the building. Throughout the semester, she has seen some common trends in Academic Alerts for her residents. Because of this, she would like to start a new program this coming semester. She would like to start Study Tables in building for those classes that sophomore commonly struggle with. If you have a class, that you would like to have focused on for study tables, please let Ali know, pickens@augsburg.edu. The study tables will not require your attendance, although your attendance is welcome!

Please let Ali know as soon as possible if you have any classes for next semester that you think could benefit from a study table.

Powerful Conversations on NSSE

December 16, 2010, OGC 111, 12:00-1:15
Active and Collaborative Learning (Velma Lashbrook)

Augsburg College uses the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) to learn more about how our students perceive their college experience. Student engagement is strongly related to both student success and retention. This series of conversations is designed to help faculty and staff understand how well we engage students, explore how we can leverage our strengths to have a more significant impact, and examine our most important opportunities for improvement. Over the year, we will look at overall results and then look more closely at each of the five factors measured by NSSE. Every academic department should have a representative attend these sessions.

Light refreshments will be served.
RSVP to hedstrom@augsburg.edu
