Powerful Conversations on NSSE

Thursday, December 16, 2010, OGC 111
Active and Collaborative Learning (Velma Lashbrook)

Augsburg College uses the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) to learn more about how our students perceive their college experience. Student engagement is strongly related to both student success and retention. This series of conversations is designed to help faculty and staff understand how well we engage students, explore how we can leverage our strengths to have a more significant impact, and examine our most important opportunities for improvement. Over the year, we will look at overall results and then look more closely at each of the five factors measured by NSSE. Every academic department should have a representative attend these sessions.

Light refreshments will be served.
RSVP to hedstrom@augsburg.edu

"Support a Hero" Program

We are a group of independent business owners who greatly appreciate the service, sacrifice and devotion of our US Military for our citizens. Inspired by their sacrifice we look for other citizens who feel the same as we offer a way to express appreciation through a "Support A Hero" program we've initiated.

Many have lost their lives fighting for our freedoms, but there are many who survived. This program will allow you to show your support to those who were wounded and are recovering from battle. How awesome would it be for a warrior who's been through so much, more than we could ever imagine, wake up and see a gift arrive from the people he/she has laid their life on the line to protect.

You may express your appreciation by sponsoring a gift/ribbon album personally selected by you to go directly to a wounded warrior. The warrior will select any item of his/her choice from the gift collection and it will be shipped to them for FREE. We understand this is a small token and in no way compares to the efforts they've given to preserve our freedoms! None the less, we hope it brings the realization that our fellow citizens support and care about the service and devotion that's being paid for us.

We've partnered with service members who will be communicating names of wounded warriors to us. The cool thing is we will let him/her know that YOU PERSONALLY showed support by sponsoring a gift.

Your gift will be sent along with a letter of gratitude that will also include your name, email and address to inform them who sent it. This enables them to not only recognize who the gift is from, but to respond with a thank you if they choose.

Thank you in advance for the support and prayers you've shown towards our US Military!
