Cedar Riverside Safety Meeting - Tomorrow
Tuesday, 9/1/09

I encourage you to attend the Cedar Riverside Safety Meeting on Tuesday, September 1. This meeting is organized by the Minneapolis Police Department. This is a great opportunity to voice your concerns about crime and commit to action as MPD and the neighborhood develop the Neighborhood Policing Plan for Cedar Riverside/West Bank for 2010.
Water Disruption Update
NEW INFORMATION
Augsburg Facilities Management staff and the contractor have revised the replacement plan. Work will start at 6:30 am on Monday, August 31. Water will be shut off to both Urness and Mortensen for several hours until they find the specific hot water line to Mortensen.
TIME LINE
Monday, August 31
• 6:30 am, water is shut off to both Urness and Mortensen.
• Hot and cold back on for Urness sometime in the afternoon
• Cold water is back on in Mortensen. sometime in the afternoon
Tuesday, September 1
• Hot water is back on in Mortensen. late in the day
For hot showers, please consider utilizing resources available to you such as locker rooms in Kennedy and Melby, a friend's place, or your permanent address.

First Wednesday Gathering
Faculty and staff are invited to the last First Wednesday Gathering of the summer on Wednesday, September 2, in the East Commons from 11 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
The security and custodial night shift employees are also invited to the Wednesday Evening Gathering at 8 p.m. in the Minneapolis Room.
The first-Wednesday-of-the-month gatherings support our commitment to building community and practicing common work. They are an opportunity to get to know one another, exchange ideas, and collaborate in new ways.
We hope you will invite your colleagues and plan to join us!

Registration for courses:
The last day for initial registration for the Day program (Fall Semester) courses for all students is the Friday before the term begins: Friday, 4 Sep 2009.
Students who have already registered for Fall or have readmitted and registered for Fall, can disregard the above.
If you are not registered or readmitted and registered, you must meet the above deadlines in order to attend Fall term.

TIAA-CREF Retirement Planning Sessions
The Human Resources department would like to invite you to attend a one on one retirement plan counseling session with TIAA-CREF. A retirement plan advisor will be on site September 1st, 2nd and 3rd to meet with you one on one.
This Individual Counseling Session will help you simplify your retirement by:
-Providing objective advice and asset allocation based on your individual needs
-Showing you how you can obtain a personalized actionable plan
-Recommending fund selections to keep you on track to and through retirement
-Reviewing your retirement income options

Free Posters for Staff and Faculty Offices
Today only from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. faculty and staff are welcome to select fine art posters that were donated to the college. The posters are in the Special Collections room of Lindell, second floor, next to the computer station.
Any posters that are not selected today for use in offices will be for sale at low prices to the entire college community by Art Club in early Sept.
