Beverages and Small Wear in the Commons

Augsburg dinning would like to remind our community that beverages in the Commons come with the purchase of a meal only. Please do not come up and take and cups, coffee cups, saucers, plates, forks, etc. out of the Commons area. They need to stay in the Commons so we all have the opportunity to eat here. Thank you for your understanding, Augsburg Dining.

Farmers Market Tuesday with Featured Recipes

Don't forget: Every Tuesday from 2 to 5 pm Augsburg hosts a community farmers market featuring locally grown, chemical-free produce. Look for tomatoes, corn, beans, potatoes, herbs, and much more. Stop by for samples of foods prepared from the vegetables -- this week, enjoy rosemary red potatoes and roasted garlic.

Here's a recipe to whet your appetite:

Roasted Whole Garlic Heads

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Cut small portion from the top of 4 large garlic heads.
Place in a small baking dish and add enough chicken stock or water to come one-third up the sides of the heads.
Drizzle over the heads 2 tablespoons of olive oil and fresh thyme, if available.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake until garlic is soft and tender, about 1 hour.
To eat, either hot or cold, squeeze pulp from each clove and spread on slices of toasted French bread. Serve with olives, cheeses, and other fresh crudites, if desired.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity of Mary, 9900 Lyndale Avenue South. There will be a visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church only. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetary. We will all keep Sheila and her family in your thoughts during this very challenging time.
