The ELCA and LGBT Inclusivity

Augsburg Alumna and English Major Kari Aanestad wrote "Listen to Their Hope: Hear Their Faith" for the Joint Synod Committee for Inclusivity. The Inclusivity Committee "offers this booklet to all members and clergy of the ELCA. The stories presented in this booklet represent the faith journeys of lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgendered (LGBT) folk, their parents, and non-gay persons, all of whom are members of the two Twin Cities synods that our committee serves. They represent a much larger collection of narratives that one can find in every congregation, many of which have never been told."

The Committee's web site further notes, "these stories portray the joy, the pain, the struggle of loving, committed individuals who love their church, but do not always feel welcomed or affirmed in who they are. We believe that God loves every person and that each person bears the image of God. Their stories are signs that the Spirit has been working in our midst, often undetected."

House For Sale in Hamline-Midway - $115,000.00

My neighbors are selling a small house in Hamline Midway and have yet to list with a Realtor. The house has two bedrooms, one bath on Englewood between Griggs and Syndicate. It has new carpet, central air, a three season porch and is situated in a great neighborhood. If you are interested in living in a tree lined city neighborhood with excellent neighbors, close to parks and good schools for a modest price, Hamline-Midway is a terrific option. You can even cycle to work or take the ACTC bus from Hamline.

The person selling the house is Nancy Mitchell and her phone number is 651-274-2235 or 651-646-2282. Give her a call if you are interested.
