Research in Economics and Integral Studies

This past Fall, Assistant Professor Kevin Bowman of Augsburg's Economics Department had two papers published in peer-reviewed journals. "Integral Neoclassical Economic Growth" appeared in The Journal of Integral Theory and Practice. The paper provides the first mathematical model in the field of integral studies. It also introduces Wilberian philosophy into the field of economic growth resulting in a post-disciplinary model of development.

Economics of Innovation and New Technology published "Endogenous Human Capital Investment and the Interaction of Frontier and Adoptive Technologies on Growth and Wage Inequality.” The model of the paper matches the technological slowdown and partial recovery along with the decreasing and then sharply increasing wage inequality since the 1970s.
