Purpose

Augsburg values faculty research and creative projects and thus is making available this opportunity to support faculty work. The purpose of the Dean’s Summer Scholarship Grant is to support well-defined faculty scholarship projects that are nearing completion. The expectation is that receipt of the grant will make it possible for a faculty member to accelerate completion of a significant project by providing this substantial opportunity.

Description and Eligibility

Two $4,000 Dean’s Summer Scholarship Grants will be awarded for summer 2008. One grant will be awarded to a faculty member who received tenure prior to the 2007-2008 academic year. One grant will be awarded to a tenure-track faculty member who successfully passed Third-Year Review prior to the 2007-2008 academic year.

Living Leadership Workshop March 13

The Center for Leadership Studies (CLS) invites you attend a workshop entitled “Self-Reflection for Leadership Development,” presented by Augsburg alumna Signe Nestingen.

Date: Thursday, March 13
Time: 6 p.m., refreshments at 5:30 p.m.
Location: Minneapolis Room, Christensen Center

Bringing fresh, dynamic energy to our leadership roles means attending to our internal conversations about our thoughts, feelings, quandaries, and questions. Attending to our inner selves in a consistent manner permits and encourages the emergence of new ideas, possibilities, and feelings that can, and do, inform leadership decisions every day.

Bring your curiosity, humor, imagination, and a pencil. Come prepared to think, feel, write and/or draw your way into an understanding of what you know, or don’t know, about yourself as a leader. This evening is a time to explore the rich and fertile inner territory of leadership.

For more information or to reserve a space in the workshop, contact Patty Park at 612-330-1150 or parkp@augsburg.edu.
