Subject: Access to the 3rd Floor of CC
Submitter:
John Pack, Director, Public Safety

Message: The only way to access the 3rd floor of the Christensen Center is to walk up the stairs under your own power. Anyone unable to do this cannot access the 3rd floor.

An individual who wants to access the 3rd floor of the Christensen Center, but is unable to do so under their own power, may contact their host or DPS. If they call DPS, the dispatcher will attempt to transfer the caller to the individual or department that organized the meeting or event on the 3rd floor. It will then be up to the host person or department to reschedule or relocate the meeting or event. For safety reasons, neither Public Safety Officers nor anyone else may carry individuals to and from the 3rd floor.

Individuals wishing to access the 2nd floor of the Christensen Center via Mortenson will also be referred to the host person or department. It will be the host’s responsibility to meet their guest at the south door to Mortenson and escort them through the secure residence hall to the Christensen Center. Departments requiring regular access through Mortenson should contact Krista Young (x1711) to obtain access cards.

The dispatchers do not have any information about the specific timeline or other aspects of this project. Please direct those questions to Facilities Management.
