Submitter:
Krishonna L Fulford, Student

Message: The Student Guide will once again be published on the web. Its current location is http://www.augsburg.edu/studentguide/. The Guide is a source for policies and procedures not covered in the College Catalog. If you have a policy you want considered for the Guide, please send your request and information to Krishonna Fulford (Student Assistant to Office of Student Affairs), fulford@augsburg.edu. Deadline for submission is June 29th. Please note: If you were responsible fro material printed in last year’s Guide, you should have received an email from me regarding the update.

Subject: Volunteers needed at commencement

Submitter:
Vinni V Thongthi, Administrative Assistant, Academic Affairs

Message: Dear Staff members,

We are still in need of additional volunteers for next Sunday's Commencement events. Volunteers assist by distributing programs, and providing direction and information to our candidates and their guests.

Volunteers will meet in Si Melby at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday for a short meeting identifying responsibilities. Doors for Commencement open at 10, with the ceremony beginning at 11. Volunteers will be asked to assist in guiding graduates and their guests to Department and Program Reception locations following the Commencement ceremony.

Your assistance is appreciated! Please contact Vinni Thongthi (thongthi@augsburg.edu or x.1024) if you are able to help.

Thank you-

Subject: Summer credit refunds for Day students

Submitter:
Wendi R Wheeler, Associate Director, Enrollment Services, Enrollment Center

Message: Recently Admissions and housing deposits were returned to Day student accounts, resulting in a credit balance for many students. All Day students with a credit balance greater than $100 will have a refund check issued by June 22. The Enrollment Center has already issued roughly 700 checks and mailed most to students’ permanent addresses. Check your Account Activity on AugNet to see if a “Credit Refund” has been issued.

Students who have a credit balance of $100 or less and are registered for Fall Semester may request a credit refund by June 25 by contacting the Enrollment Center. Otherwise, the balance will remain on the student account and be applied toward Fall charges.

Students with a credit balance of $100 or less who are not registered for Fall will have a check issued by the end of the summer. There is no need to request these checks; they will be automatically issued. Check your Account Activity on AugNet to see if a “Credit Refund” has been issued.

Subject: Invitation to host visiting Chinese students

Submitter:
Kathleen A Tuckner, Project Manager, Office of the President

Message: As a follow-up to Dr. Kwok's recent visit to the US, and the UIC's recent partnership with MPCC, Augsburg College will be hosting a group of 28 Chinese students and two faculty/staff leaders from United International College (UIC). They arrive on campus Sunday, July 8th and will be departing Friday, July 13th. After an afternoon of orientation on July 8th, we are inviting faculty and staff to volunteer as hosts. If you are interested in hosting a "home visit" (dinner and conversation with a group of 3-4 students), please contact Kathleen at ext. 1403 or by email: tuckner@augsburg.edu Thank you.

Subject: Wanted: Garden Tool Donations
Submitter:
Timothy Dougherty, Community and Civic Engagement Student Coordinator, Center for Service Work and Learning

Message: The Augsburg Community garden has started small this year with 7 raised garden beds at the southern edge of the Urness Mort Parking lot by the 94 wall. We have planted a bunch of veggies that we'll be using to teach local youth where their food comes from!

We are looking for garden tool donations from the Augsburg community. Do you have an unused trowel, shovel, hoe, wheelbarrow, rake, or anything else useful? Clean out your shed and help us to help the community!!

Please contact Tim Dougherty in the Center for Service, Work, and Learning if you are able to help us out. 612.330.1208, doughert@augsburg.edu
