Message: Augsburg is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Weekend College program! We invite current WEC undergraduate students and alumni to join us on Thursday, May 17 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the East Commons of Christensen Center. We will have food, music, and an opportunity to connect with other students, faculty, and staff members as well as a short program at 5:30. We plan to recognize Rick Thoni and to hear from some alumni and friends of Weekend College. Please RSVP today by emailing rsvp@augsburg.edu.


Subject: Workstation Reconciliation in the Auggie's Nest

Message: The Department of Campus Activities and Orientation is reassigning workstation spaces in the Auggie's Nest. The following orgs have workstation spaces from previous years but have not turned in a Workstation Assignment Application:

International Student Organization
Murphy Square
Queer & Straight in Unity

Please remove any items you wish to keep for your organization from this space by Friday, May 11th. I will be cleaning these spaces out and reassigning them on Monday, May 14th. Any materials found on the workstation desk or in the workstation drawers will be donated to charity on Monday, May 14th.

Subject: Needed Temporary Home Steinway Piano

Message: We are remodeling this summer and I need a temporary home for a medium size Steinway grand piano in excellent condition. This could be for a year beginning in June. I will cover moving costs.... but would want the interested party to cover the tuning. I live in MacGroveland in St. Paul.

Subject: WEC Student Body and Senate Elections

Message: Beginning Thursday, May 10 at noon, all WEC Students are encouraged to vote for next year’s Senators-at-Large and Student Body President and Vice President.

WEC Student Senate is the organization that serves and represents the entire WEC student body, simultaneously striving to foster student involvement in an effortto enhance the Augsburg Community. These elections provide students with an opportunity to directly elect senate members who they feel best represent and understand the needs of the student body. Elections will end Monday, May 14 at 11:59 p.m.

There are four Senator-at-Large positions to fill and WEC Student Body President and Vice-President. Students may cast a vote for each of the four senator positions and one vote for President and Vice-President.

Candidates include:
WEC Student Body President: Mia (Amy) Bothun
WEC Student Body Vice President: Michele Roulet
WEC Student Senators-at-Large: four write in slots

The option to write-in a candidate for President and Vice President is also available.

All WEC students have the opportunity to vote for all of the positions that are open.

A special election may be held next fall to fill any vacant spots.

Subject: Last Day for Staff Senate Elections!

Message: Today is the last day you can turn in your staff senate ballots for electing three new staff senators. Please turn in your yellow ballots by the end of the day today to campus box 103.

To all staff who have returned their ballots already -- thank you! We have had a great response so far so if you have not turned in your ballot please take the time to vote for up to three of the 12 candidates.

On Thursday, May 17 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. the Augsburg community will gather in the Christensen Center to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Weekend College program. There will be beer, wine, and hors d'oeuvres.

The program will begin at 5:45 and will feature a tribute to Rick Thoni, the founding director of Weekend College. Please make plans to attend.
