Subject: Security Alert

Submitter:
John Pack, Director, Public Safety

Message: On Sunday, September 17, a U of MN student was robbed while walking alone near the intersection 21st and 7th at approximately 3:30 a.m. The women approached the U of MN student and, while one asked for directions, the other two grabbed the student. The robbers are described as female, African American, average height, heavyset and in their 20’s. The robbers took the students purse. No weapons were used. The purse was recovered with cash missing.

The previous weekend, on Friday, September 8, a man, not affiliated with the college, reported being robbed by two men at the same intersection at approximately 11 p.m. Unfortunately, the victim decided to leave before talking to the police. As a result, a police report was not filed. The best description we have of the robbers is male, A
frican American and wearing sweatshirts.

A vehicle has been reported stolen from Lot G on Saturday, September 9. The vehicle is a mid-90’s light green Saturn sedan. It was parked at approximately 8 a.m. and missing when the owner returned at 5 p.m.

If you have information regarding these reports, please contact the Minneapolis Police Department of Augsburg Department of Public Safety (x1717). Please feel free to contact John Pack, Director of Public Safety, at 612-330-1644 or by email at pack@augsburg.edu.
