Message: For the next couple of weeks there will be 3 brand new pieces of aerobic equipment in the fitness center for you to demo. Please take time to come down and check out the precor treadmill, X-trainer and upright bike. We want to know what you think and need your input to help us determine what to include in the new fitness center. Please take time to jot us a note at: <fitness@augsbur.edu> and tell us what you think of the new equipment or other thoughts on what should be included in our planning.

Subject: Please Welcome the Summer Bridge Class of 2006!

Submitter:

Message: Twenty-four students will begin their journey at Augsburg College with the TRIO / Student Support Services Summer Bridge Program. This four week academic program is offered to Augsburg first year students who qualify for the TRIO/SSS program.

Summer Bridge runs Monday, July 10 through Thursday, August 10, 2006. Subject: Two art exhibitions open Thursday, July 13

Submitter:
Kerry Morgan, Coordinator of Galleries and Exhibits, Art

Message: Join us for the opening receptions of two art exhibitions on Thursday, July 13 from 6 to 8 p.m.

"Paper Union," mixed media work by Mary Reid Kelley, will be featured in our Christensen Center Art Gallery. Her artwork is based on 19th century memorabilia from the American Civil War that she incorporates into dioramas. She photographs the scens and then remakes them in paint and graphite to emphasize the different filters by which we come to know history.

"By a Thread," recent sculpture by Randy Walker, is highlighted in our Gage Family Art Gallery in Lindell Library. His wrapped and woven three-dimensional spaces are vibrant, tenuous, and complex visual explorations employing mundane materials.

Please drop by Thursday night to meet these artists and to enjoy free food and drink. All are welcome!

Subject: Volunteer for the Minnesota Fringe Festival!
Submitter:
Caitlin M Sheaffer, Student

Message:
Hundreds of people volunteer for the Minnesota Fringe Festival every year. Most of our volunteers work during shows as ?front-of-house? staff, serving as either box officers or ushers. Volunteering for the Fringe is easy, and we work hard to make sure everyone has a great experience when they help us out. As a volunteer you?ll get one coupon for a free ticket for each 1.5 hour shift you work. The coupon is good for a ticket to any show in the festival. You?ll also be invited to our exclusive Volunteer Appreciation Party. Held the week after the Fringe, this party has become one of the highlights for Fringe insiders. Come join us for food, drink, prizes and our thanks.

Learn something new. Find out all about Minnesota?s coolest festival, learn a new skill and get to know the coolest kids on the block.
