These are some tasty final projects
What do line, shape, form, texture, and rhythm have in common with butter, sugar, and flour? They are part of a final project students in Design created and presented to the campus community.
Throughout the semester, students learned the elements, theories, and practice of design and created a variety of two-dimensional pieces through paintings, drawings, and computer generated imagery. After a lengthy speech component, instructor Susan Boecher decided to assign a final project that would reflect the required design elements but would also be fun. Because students tend to respond favorably to anything related to or involving food, Boecher assigned a final project that required students to incorporate two- and three-dimensional design elements into a baked product.
On Thursday afternoon, the students presented their final projects in the basement of Old Main. Augsburg faculty, staff, and other students were invited to help evaluate the projects based on creativity, presentation, ability to present three-dimensional design, and of course, taste.
Projects were judged by students, faculty, and staff and evluated on creativity, design elements, presentation, and taste. Results shown in order of first to third place.
