Oren Gateway Center’s New Occupants

July 23, 2007

Several offices, departments, and spaces on campus are preparing for their move to the new Oren Gateway Center, which officially opens in August.

Bookstore staff members are already setting up the textbook displays in the new Barnes and Noble Bookstore – Augsburg College. The old bookstore will be closed July 26 and 27 to relocate, and the new location will open on July 30. A grand opening is scheduled for October 12.

In mid-August, several administrative and academic areas will be moving. These offices include several areas within the Institutional Advancement Division: Alumni Relations, Parent and Family Relations, Government and Community Relations, Advancement Services, and Development; administrative offices for the Master of Business Administration and Master of Arts in Leadership programs; and StepUP, Augsburg’s residential program for students in chemical recovery.

In addition to housing StepUP’s new office, Oren Gateway Center will be the new home to 64 StepUP students as well as 42 other undergraduate students. The building will also be the new home to the Gage Family Art Gallery.

Nearly 5,400 square feet of state-of-the-art classrooms, 3,000 square feet of new meeting spaces, an eatery, and underground parking are other features of the new building.

Grand-opening festivities, including tours, are in the works for Homecoming Weekend, October 12.
