For the first time in the history of Augsburg College, a new commencement schedule was held, which reflects Augsburg’s diverse student population and different academic calendars. The second ceremony of Augsburg's 138th Commencement was held on Sunday, June 24. This ceremony honored students in the Weekend College and master’s degree programs. Augsburg graduated 219 baccalaureate students in Weekend College, Rochester and the United/Mercy/Unity Hospitals programs, and 286 master’s students in leadership, education, nursing, business administration and social work.

The commencement speaker was Dr. Martin E. Marty, Fairfax M. Cone Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus at the University of Chicago Divinity School. Marty is one of the nation’s leading voices on issues of religion in public life. He was also the recipient of an honorary degree.

The first Commencement Ceremony was held May 5 for the traditional undergraduate students and students in the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program.
