There’s no better way to get a true snapshot of college life than from a current student. Thanks to a team of Auggie bloggers, prospective students will be able to hear and see first hand what life within the ivy walls of Augsburg College is really like.

Comprised of students and staff from around campus, the Homemade Project team is launching the Homemade page this week, which will serve as a jumping-off point for viewers to read journal entries, and view photo and videos blogs on life at Augsburg.

Blogging is a hot trend within college admissions departments, but Augsburg College wanted to make it personal. “We have such a pool of talented, interesting students, we knew we could turn to them to share their experiences and to tell the Augsburg story,” reported Carrie Carroll, Director of Admissions.

The Homemade team is committed to making the blogs an authentic view of student life at the college. “The project is student-driven. We wanted to give the students the freedom to represent their experiences,” adds Carroll.  The blogs are moderated by students Caitlin Sheaffer and Noah Sager. Sheaffer reports: “It’s been great to be involved from the ground level on such a visible website. The admissions staff has been so much fun to work with. I’m excited to see where it will go from here.” Emphasis is placed on keeping the entries fresh and updated to prompt readers to come back often.
