Robin Morgan speaker for the first Koryn Horbal lecture series

Robin Morgan, an award-winning writer, feminist leader, political theorist, journalist and editor will be the inaugural speaker for the Koryn Horbal lecture series, Thursday, Oct. 21, 7:30 pm. In Sateren Auditorium.

Morgan has published 17 books, including six of poetry, two fictions, and the now-classic anthologies "Sisterhood is Powerful" and "Sisterhood is Global." A founder of the contemporary U.S. feminism, she has also been a leader in the international women's movement for 25 years. Morgan is the recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts Prize (poetry), the Front Page Award for Distinguished Journalist, the Feminist Majority Foundation Award, and numerous other honors. She currently lives in New York City.

The Koryn Horbal Lecture Series, sponsored by the Anne Pederson Women's Resource Center of Augsburg College, is committed to bringing quality women speakers to Augsburg College beginning this fall. This lecture series will feature women speakers of national prominence who will address important issues that especially impact women. This series is named for Koryn Horbal, founder of the DFL feminist caucus and ambassador to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
