TRIO/SSS Summer Bridge Program 2004

Jul. 6, 2004

Beginning Monday, July 12, nineteen incoming students will take part in a four-week TRIO/SSS Summer Bridge Program.

The Summer Bridge Program meets weekday mornings mid-July to mid-August and includes college courses with academic support seminars.

This year, students will complete 2 college credit courses – GST 140: Introduction to Liberal Arts and REL 100: Christian Vocation and the Search for Meaning.

Summer Bridge is FREE of charge to students. In addition to the college courses, Summer Bridge students attend a Supplemental Instruction course, workshops about Augsburg College and college life, as well as social and cultural activities.

The SSS program is one of three TRIO programs originally funded under the Higher Education Act of 1965 whose objective is to help students overcome class, social and cultural barriers to complete their college education. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the SSS program is committed to helping low-income, first-generation college students and students with disabilities achieve a bachelor's degree.

Questions about the program can be directed to the TRIO/SSS office, x1311.
