Nationally-known motivational speaker Elaine Penn to speak Feb. 2 -3

Motivational speaker and singer Elaine Penn will speak to Augsburg College student-athletes and members of the Augsburg community on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 2-3.

Penn, Special Projects Director at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, has been a motivational speaker and consultant to colleges and universities around the nation for the past seven years. She has facilitated workshops and presented keynote addresses on many topics including leadership development, diversity, and community building.

Penn will deliver a keynote address on Sunday, Feb. 2 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Foss Center chapel. The speech, free and open to all members of the Augsburg community -- faculty, staff and students -- will focus on "Community Building and Diversity."

She will also deliver three workshops on Monday, Feb. 3. A presentation on "Team Building and Diversity" is available to faculty and staff, coaches, and student affairs staff. The addresses will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., and from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Christensen Center Century Room.

Penn will also deliver an address for student-athletes and student leaders on "Leadership," from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in the Christensen Center East Commons.
