Women's Hockey team to travel to Italy
The Augsburg College women's hockey team will be taking a trip of a lifetime during the holiday break. The Auggies will be traveling to Italy for an eight-day excursion from Dec. 28-Jan. 5, playing three games against Italian women's hockey teams and experiencing the beauty and history of the country. Most of the trip will be spent in northern Italy, with the remainder in Florence and Rome.
Team members raised money for the last two years to pay for the trip. Traveling with the team will be head coach Jill Pohtilla, assistant coaches Barb Halbrehder and Bill Halbrehder, athletic trainer Missy Strauch and sports information coordinator Don Stoner. It is the women's hockey team's first-ever international trip. Augsburg will have stories from Italy, student-athlete travel diaries and photos updated daily on the athletic website (available after Dec. 28).
