Augsburg College will be awarded the "Star Award" in a 10:45 a.m. Wednesday presentation that will be part of the 12th Annual Minnesota Service Recognition Day. The event will be held at Concordia University in St. Paul in the Buetow Music Center.

Augsburg is receiving its award for the way its community service-learning program implemented the vision of "The Engaged Campus: New Models for Campus-Community Collaboration."

A Minnesota Campus Compact nomination form for the Star Award describes this vision as one that includes "longer-term, multifaceted partnerships with community-based organizations to maximize the potential for significant, lasting impact on communities."

The 12th Annual Minnesota Service Recognition Day is presented by the National Youth Leadership council in partnership with the governor's office and seven partner organizations.

Augsburg is one of six Minnesota colleges and universities receiving Star Awards on Wednesday. Others are Concordia College (Moorhead, Minn.); Metropolitan State University; Gustavus Adolphus College (St. Peter, Minn.); University of Minnesota-Crookston; University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
