Augsburg College honors Pan-Asian student achievement at recognition banquet

The Augsburg College Pan-Asian Student Services program recognized nearly 50 Pan-Asian students for academic excellence and achievement at the College¹s first Pan-Asian Student Services Recognition Awards Banquet on April 25.

Students with grade point averages of 3.50 and higher received the "Academic Excellence" award and students with grade point averages between 3.00 and 3.49 received the "Academic Achievement" award.

Three special awards were also given at the banquet. The "Community Service Achievement Award" was presented to Jun Jian; the "Leadership Award" was presented to Tanya Frieler and Chiho Okuizumi; and the "Special Distinction Award" was presented to Mary Xiaojia Li.

The following students received the "Academic Excellence" awards (3.50 and higher grade point averages): (Day students) Pauleen Arneja; Kelli Borders; Jennifer Brogger; Charles Cracraft; Kari Davidson; James De Silva; Tanya Frieler; Syed Hadi; Mary Xiaojia Li; Annaliese Missling; Lewis Nelson; Trang T. Nguyen; and Ethan Traen. (Weekend College students) Andrea Aake; Kevin Ching; Shuping Gong; Paymon Mafi; Michael McCarthy; Kieutram Nguyen; Truong Nguyen; Kimuc Pham; Phat Phan; and Si Lam.

The following students received the "Academic Achievement" awards (3.00 ­ 3.49 higher grade point averages): (Day students) Abu-May Nabia; Hanh Dao; Qiuxia Hu; Akiko Ito; Thidasoche Kim; Jahyuck Ku; Nhia Lee; Benedict Narczak; Ying Moua; Chiho Okuizumi; Rebecca Stensvaag; Jai Wahi; and Khou Yang. (Weekend students) Dominque Dinh; Diana Hoelzel; Melissa Johnson; Rehman Khan; Beth Lo; Lymoua Mouacheupao; Annie Nguyen; Jorden Nguyen; Kelvin Nguyen; Carolanne Nanneman; Sarah Zirbes; and graduate student Patrick Xaphakdy.
