Summer and Smoke kicks off Augsburg theatre season

Augsburg College Theatre Arts program will begin its 1999-2000 theatre season with seven performances of Summer and Smoke by Tennessee Williams.

Tennessee Williams, one of the most popular and poetic American dramatists, wrote this story of a woman, a man, and the struggle to balance their spiritual and sexual natures. The play is directed by Julie Bolton, theatre faculty member.

Summer and Smoke opens Friday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. and will run through Sunday, Nov. 14. Performances will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sundays. It will be performed at the Tjornhom-Nelson Theatre in Foss Center, located on 22nd and Riverside Avenues in Minneapolis. The cost is $6 per person.
