New  Minnesota Historical Society Fellowship Opportunities: The Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS) is recruiting for a fellowship opportunity with MNHS’s Department of Inclusion and Community Engagement. The Inclusion and Community Engagement Fellowship Program (INCE, formerly known as the ACTC Fellowship) is a course that encourages undergraduates from diverse communities to explore the challenges within museums, historical organizations, and cultural institutions related to inclusion, representation, narrative, and the workforce.

The program is divided into three parts: a 3 credit undergraduate course, a paid internship, and a trip to Chicago, Illinois. The priority deadline for applications is March 23rd and positions are competitive so applicants should apply as soon as possible.

New  Motivis Learning, a learning management system (LMS), has announced it is now accepting applications for its second Annual Aspiring Educator Scholarship. The $10,000 scholarship is aimed towards students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in education. The scholarship will be awarded to the student whose essay best details how they plan to make a difference through teaching.   Augsburg University Education Department Scholarships Available: Any student interested in any of these scholarships is invited to send to Cheryl Sticha (sticha@augsburg.edu) their name, contact information (phone and email), undergrad or graduate status, GPA, declared or intended major, scholarships being applied for and a brief paragraph stating qualifications for each scholarship for which the student is applying.   Free NES Prep Sessions! Invite your classmates! Registration is required.

There are two reading and the writing sessions at Augsburg University on 4/7/2018 & 4/14/2018. Register for the reading and writing prep sessions here: <https://goo.gl/xb4MVO>.

For those of you who have not passed the NES exam or partially passed the NES exam, you can pick and choose which sessions to attend.   New Free MTLE Preparation Site: A new free site on which our students can gain valuable test prep experience for the MTLE is available. It is the preparation site for the *Massachusetts* teacher candidate test.

The site can be located following these steps:

Go to: Learning Express (all centers)

  1. Career Center
  2. Prepare for an Occupation
  3. Teaching

Find the MTEL (this is the Massachusetts version but it is almost identical to the Minnesota version of the test)

Students need to register but only need to fill in the spots with an asterisk. and can skip the blank for student ID.

  Teacher Candidate Grant Funding Available for Qualified Students: The Office of Higher Education is excited to announce the application for the Teacher Candidate Grant is now available. The Minnesota Teacher Candidate Grant provides postsecondary financial assistance to eligible students enrolled in Minnesota teacher preparation programs during one term in which the student is completing a required 12-week or more student teaching experience. On a funds available basis, selected undergraduate and graduate students may receive awards of up to $7,500. Applicants must intend to work in an identified shortage area and/or belong to a racial or ethnic group underrepresented in the Minnesota teacher workforce to be eligible.
