Description: Come hear from the incomparable ​Haki R. Madhubuti! Haki R. Madhubuti (born Don Luther Lee on February 23, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States) is an African-American author, educator, and poet. Madhubuti is a major contributor to the Black literary tradition, in particular through his early association with the Black Arts Movement beginning in the mid-60s, and which has had a lasting and major influence, even today. A proponent of independent Black institutions, Madhubuti is the founder, publisher, and chairman of the board of Third World Press (established in 1967), which today is the largest independent black-owned press in the United States. Over the years, he has published 28 books (some under his former name, “Don L. Lee”) and is one of the world’s best-selling authors of poetry and non-fiction, with books in print in excess of 3 million.

This event is free and open to the Public and Madhubuti’s books will be for sale at the talk.

Description: This year’s Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute Concert will feature Committed (stars of NBC’s hit show The Sing-Off) plus performances by Jazz Vocalist Pippi Ardennia and Sheri Hixon. This concert is free and open to the public.

Description: With generous support from the Lloyd G. Bafour Foundation, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee, and in partnership with Campus Compact for New Hampshire, the New Hampshire Inclusive Excellence Advisory Board, and UMass Boston, NERCHE’s Project Inclusion will pilot and then encourage a statewide effort to assess the institutional structures, policies, and practices around diversity, equity, and inclusiveness in New Hampshire’s Colleges and universities. This webinar is open to all interested in learning more about this statewide effort.
