Teaching and Learning

These programs are designed to strengthen the skills of those who teach face-to-face, online, or blended classes, or offer other programs for Augsburg’s traditional and non-traditional students. Specific programs have also been designed for new facultytenure track faculty, those involved in designing hybrid learning programs.

In addition, we provide Integrated Course Design Grants, Teaching Circles, and an annual Teaching Showcase to support and celebrate improvements in student learning.

Integrated Course Design Grants

Integrated Course Design Grants are available to support faculty summer course design activities. The purpose of these grants is to support the development of instructional design skills, as well as their application to a specific course. This year’s grants will be used to support the design of blended courses for Weekend College and graduate courses, and be administered by the Deans.

Applications for 2014-15 grants are available on the grant application page, and are due March 15.

Teaching Circles

Faculty are encouraged to form self-organizing teaching circles to collaborate on teaching and learning issues, or to simply support one another in teaching endeavors. Work culture grants are available to help pay for materials that support your work together.

Teaching Showcase

The Teaching Showcase is a sampling of course materials by Augsburg faculty displayed at the annual Faculty Recognition Luncheon, which will be held May 2 in the Commons. If you have a Moodle site, other online site, syllabus, poster, sample course products, etc. that we can include in the showcase, please contact ctl@augsburg.edu.
