These programs are intended to address the development needs for academic and administrative staff, and are co-sponsored with the Human Resources Department. Programs include the New Staff Orientation and Staff Development Series. The 2013-14 series is organized by Michael Grewe, Tammy McBroom, and Erin Voss. In addition to these programs, staff are invited to participate in other programs offered by CTL, especially the community building and inclusiveness activities.
New Staff Orientation
The annual new faculty and staff orientation is held on Tuesday during the last week of August. All staff who began after the most recent orientation are expected to attend. The one-day faculty and staff orientation examines Augsburg’s history and its current strategy, explores the demographics of our students and how we serve them, and clarifies what is expected of you and how we will support your success. As part of the orientation, you will learn more about how Augsburg seeks to create an inclusive campus and how you can continue to develop your intercultural competence. In addition to what you will learn, the orientation provides an excellent opportunity for you to develop relationships with faculty and staff colleagues outside your department.
Staff Development Series
All staff are invited to participate in the ongoing series designed for staff. This series addresses both personal and professional development needs. Sessions are held monthly on Tuesdays from 8:00-9:30. Details about future and past staff development sessions are available on the staff development moodle site (link: https://moodle.augsburg.edu/moodlecommunity/course/view.php?id=601 ) . An Augsburg login is required to access the moodle site.
