Students: Spend 10 Days in Israel
The MINNE (Minne means "memory" in Norwegian) Fellows program will select one Augsburg student for a free 10-day fellowship in Israel from May 2-13, 2016. The goal of the program is to foster greater understanding between people and to educate college students about the Holocaust. The Minneapolis Jewish Federation and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas (JCRC) will arrange for fellows to tour Israel with Israeli peers. The visit to Israel will include a tour of Yad Vashem, Israel's national Holocaust museum, additional Holocaust educational programming as well as touring the sites of Israel.
The Minneapolis Jewish Federation and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas (JCRC) will arrange for fellows to tour Israel with Israeli peers.
-MINNE covers flight and land costs as well as granting students a $50/day per diem provided while the student is in Israel.
-Applicants must be U.S. citizens and registered for full time classes at Augsburg with at least one year left on campus. Students must be sophomores or above with a 3.0+ GPA.

Dr. Jayoung Koo, Assistant Professor of Business Administration, submitted an article entitled, "Building An Exploratory Model for Part-Time Sales Associates' Turnover Intentions," which was selected as the Best Paper in Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising that was published in FCSRJ during 2015. Mentor for Augsburg College Youth Theology Institute (ACYTI)
Current students - Are you interested in growing in your faith, being a role model and positive influence for high school youth, and developing meaningful relationships? If so, then we've got the perfect job for you!
DETAILS…
Augsburg College Youth Theology Institute (ACYTI) is a week-long experience for high school students to critically engage in theological inquiry and faith exploration on the campus of the college. Classroom learning, worship opportunities, urban exposure, and community building are all components of the program.
An ACYTI Mentor serves a vital role in the Youth Theology Institute by helping to implement programs and cultivate community as faith leaders working with the high school youth participants. A mentor must be able to participate in training beforehand and be available during the full week of ACYTI, be willing to develop healthy relationships with the participants, exhibit leadership skills to faithfully guide participants in learning, worship, and fellowship activities, prepare and lead at least one- 20 minute worship experience and one afternoon or evening activity during ACYTI, enforce rules and boundaries to keep participants safe, and collaborate with other staff and mentors to support other activities throughout the week of ACYTI.

Art Club Seeks New and Diverse Creatives
Art Club is excited to announce its interest to expand its membership to include students from all creative disciplines this spring. They are seeking students from the Film, Music, Theater, Art Education and Writing departments to help plan and carry out creative projects throughout the year. Art Club is looking for new and fresh perspectives to broaden the base of disciplines and create projects and programs that reflect broader creative interests.
Art Club would like to invite interested students to its first meeting on Tuesday, February 9, at 4:30 p.m. in Old Main 6.

New: Minor in Leadership Studies
What can a Minor in Leadership Studies do for your Major?!
Beginning fall 2016, a Minor in Leadership Studies will be available to undergraduate students at Augsburg College! The minor offers an undergraduate education in the study of leadership theory and its practice and is specifically designed for students who have been, and will continue to be, involved in activities both on and off campus.
We have three opportunities for students to learn more about the minor. Leadership Studies faculty and staff will be available at each session to answer questions. A brief presentation will start the meeting followed by Q & A.

Welcome Dawn Miller to Human Resources
On 1/27, Dawn Miller joined the Human Resources team as Augsburg's Senior HR Generalist. She is filling the position that Tammy McBroom previously held.
Dawn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in HR, primarily in employee and labor relations, training and facilitation and HR compliance. She most recently worked for HealthEast for 11 years as a Lead Senior HR Business Partner/Generalist and has worked in the human resources field for 20 years. Dawn holds a BA in Speech-Communications from the University of Minnesota.

Worried? Stressed? Sad? You are not alone. Get help at the Center for Wellness & Counseling (CWC) Depression and Anxiety Screening Day. Stop by the CWC office on the first floor of the Anderson Residence Hall today - Wednesday February 3rd between 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Complete a FREE 10-15 minute screening for depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder. No appointments are necessary. Meet face to face with a counselor to discuss the results and receive information and resources on and off campus to help address your concerns. First 15 students to take the screening at the CWC office on Wednesday will receive a gift card for a coffee at Einstein's. Contact the CWC office at 612-330-1707 with any questions.
