The Seasons of a Scholar's Calling: Reflections at Mid-Career by Joan Kunz

On October 19, join the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the Christensen Center for Vocation (CCV) for a time of reflection and recognition of the scholarship of Joan Kunz, Associate Professor of Chemistry and the 2015 recipient of the Excellence in Teaching award.

Monday, October 19 from 3:45 to 5 p.m. in the Marshall Room

The Commons is open from 7:30am-7:00pm. Market Place is serving Herb Roasted Pork Loin, Grilled Quinoa Cakes, Braised Carrots with Thyme, and Sweet Potato Fries. Vege is serving Couscous with Carrots, Raisins and Pine Nuts, Roasted Butternut Squash, Crispy Broccoli with Lemon Topping, and Hazelnut Roasted Asparagus.

Meet Filmmaker Missy Whiteman Oct. 21

Students here is your chance to talk with local filmmaker Missy Whiteman (Northern Arapaho and Kickapoo)! Missy will be hosting a night of shorts and animations on Wednesday Oct. 21 in Sateren Auditorium but is offering a special talk session from 5-6 p.m. in Sateren. Come and bring a friend.

The Augsburg Native American Film Series presents a special evening of films that explore the power that Native women filmmakers have as creators of legacy and legend. Our evening of short films is hosted by Missy Whiteman (Northern Arapaho and Kickapoo) and includes selected work of Indigenous women filmmakers and animators including Missy Whiteman, Amanda Strong, and Ramona Emerson.

Diversity and Inclusion Committee Open Forum

Please consider attending the first Diversity and Inclusion Committee Open Forum of the 2015-2016 academic year which will take place on Monday, October 19 at 12 - 1 p.m. in the Marshall Room. This open forum is an informal opportunity for faculty, staff, and students to gather and discuss thoughts about current inclusion efforts and/or other inclusion-related topics at Augsburg. Topics could include, but are not limited to inclusion efforts that are going well and should be continued/strengthened, new and innovative ideas to improve inclusion, efforts that could be improved and/or should have more attention, etc. The Chief Diversity Officer and members of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee will be present to answer questions if applicable and to record suggestions and concerns for future committee work.
