Zyzzogeton

Dear Faculty,

Augsburg's own Zyzzogeton research poster session will be this Friday from 2-4 p.m. in Oren Gateway Center. The students presenting have committed a great deal of time to their research as well as summarizing and synthesizing their results. Zyzzogeton is an important continuation of the research process for these students as they are required to discuss and answer questions regarding their research. When engaged in this format, students learn that research does not end when one presents findings; ideas are continually sharpened and are responded to within the context of a field as well as the broader academe. Your questions and feedback are essential for the success of this event, so please take some time to attend on Friday, if your schedule allows.

Also, a big thank you to those faculty members who have worked with students on their projects and posters! It is a true service to our undergraduates.

Keeping Track of Auggies

CGE Data and Highlights from 2012-2013

Hello, Augsburg College community -

The Center for Global Education has been working to better quantify our impact in the field of international education, including how we may have influenced our own campus community. Many individuals on campus are aware of who we are and what we do, but we wanted to share some key data that our recent research has produced.

CGE coordinates short-term study abroad programs for institutions of higher education such as Ohio State University, Boston College, Pacific Lutheran University and many more. Most programs run from 7-10 days, but we have contracted with institutions like Carleton College and Furman University to develop and manage full term programs (trimester, quarter or semester).

Data highlights:
--In FY 2012-2013, CGE coordinated 45 travel seminars for 717 participants. Nine of these programs were for/with Augsburg College faculty and staff.
--Over 95% of the participants rated the seminars as excellent or very good overall
--Over 99% of the participants would recommend our programs to others
--Over 91% of the participants completely agreed that the travel seminar included experiential learning drawing upon a range of local presenters and resources, and learning directly from people they would not have otherwise encountered

Thanks for supporting CGE and we hope to serve more of you this year and beyond.
