Moodle Huddle Workshops for Faculty and Staff

Get ready for fall with the new Moodle!

The version of Moodle for the 2012-2013 academic year brings significant changes. Discover what is different and which features will enhance your course objectives. Six possible days, 14 different sessions available, nine IT staff, two IT students -- we're serious!

Workshop schedule is repeated daily from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. August 28, 29, 30. Opening session begins in Sverdrup Hall 202.

International Student Festival

ISFiT, the “International Student Festival in Trondheim” - The world's largest international student festival. http://www.isfit.org/

The theme for ISFiT 2013 is Global Trade. The festival is held from the 7th to the 17th of February, in the city of Trondheim, Norway. Over 450 students from all over the world gather to attend 17 different workshops and take part in the festival's culture program. ISFiT is a nonprofit organization and is brought to life with the efforts of more than 400 student volunteers.

Cultural events
In addition to the workshops, ISFiT highlights the festival theme through a vast cultural program consisting of concerts, plenary sessions, art exhibitions, performing arts, and ceremonies. The culture program offers an extensive range of events for the visiting participants, but is also available for the population of Trondheim.

The aim of ISFiT
ISFiT 2013's vision is to create a better future for young people in the world. Through discussion and debate, ISFiT aims at fostering inspiration and being a starting point for international cooperation amongst students. Here, where friendships are made and valuable lessons learned, the participants can trade their ideas and visions.

Free Lockers Available for 2012-2013

Campus Activities and Orientation has a limited number of lockers that students can reserve for their use for the entire academic year. These lockers are completely free and are located on the ground and second floors of the Science Building. Lockers are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, and priority is given to students who commute from off-campus.

Nobel Peace Prize Forum Open House

Are you on campus Tuesday, August 28, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.? Please feel free to stop by the Nobel Peace Prize Forum open house, located on first floor of the Foss Center (170B) for a meet-and-greet with complimentary bagels. Also be sure to learn about the upcoming 2013 Peace Prize Forum, which will be held next March. We look forward to seeing you and wish everyone a great start to the upcoming school year!

Smoking in Designated Areas Only Policy

Smoking will be permitted in designated areas only on the Augsburg Minneapolis campus. The 10 designated areas are:

1. Plaza area outside the Ice Arena.
2. Designated area in front of Si Melby.
3. Bench area outside of the Music building.
4. North side of the walkway entrance to Foss.
5. Oren Gateway Center near Lot H.
6. 7th Street side of the Library.
7. Quad: patio area near Christensen
8. Christensen Center vent area.
9. Urness/Mortensen: east side of 10 minute parking zone.
10. Bench area between Anderson and Luther Hall.

No smoking in/near building entrances except in a designated area. Smokers should use receptacles for cigarette butts.
