Public Safety and Facilities Announcements

Free Office Furniture

The facilities department has cleaned furniture storage spaces. We have placed some items in the lower level hallways of Foss Center. These items are free to any takers on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you would like any of the items, mark them as "taken." You must remove the items yourself by the end of the day on Thursday, August 9. Any items left after August 9 will be tossed, even if they are marked as "taken." Please note that these free items are not for use on campus.

Also, if you are aware of any nonprofit organizations interested in the items, please let them know.

TODAY - New Ticketing System Tutorial

Student Financial Services has implemented a new ticketing system to be used when departments would like to bill a student’s account. The directions are listed below, but we will be offering an in-person tutorial on Wednesday, August 1, in Lindell 202. If you are unable to attend the tutorial but still have questions, contact your Admin LFC or Cory Snyder.

Instructions:

To use our new ticketing system, visit http://go.augsburg.edu/sfsrequest. Please bookmark this link for future reference. Click "Submit a Ticket" and then the department "Student Financial Services." After hitting "Next," fill in your general information, click "Yes" to the question "Request to charge student accounts?" and click the template link web.augsburg.edu/enroll/Student_Account_Request_to_Bill.xls

On the Excel document, enter as much information as you are able to. Student names and ID numbers are required. If you need help determining what account numbers to place on the Excel spreadsheet, let me know and I will work with Administrative Accounting to provide them to you.

Once your spreadsheet is finalized, you will want to 'Save As' a copy to your hard drive. You will then be able to upload the file at the bottom of the ticket.

By using this method, you will be able to track the progress of your request and receive an email notification when it has been finalized. Any charges submitted after a term's drop/add period has passed may not be billed until the next term's billing cycle begins.

The Leadership Institute at St. Catherine University is offering free admission for Augsburg faculty and staff, and at a discount for Augsburg students.

St. Kate is hosting nationally renowned speaker Suzy Welch from 3-5:30 p.m. on August 14. She will be discussing how to use values-based decision making to begin to have these conversations with your family. Additionally, new research commissioned by Ameriprise Financial offers an in-depth look across three generations of Americans -- baby boomers, their adult children and their aging parents -- to reveal how the changing financial needs and attitudes of each generation have altered their relationship with money and with each other.

General admission is $40, but FREE for ACTC faculty and staff.

For ticket information, contact Katie Maas, coordinator at the Continuing Learning and Leadership Institute at St. Catherine University, by calling 651-690-6819 or emailing kemaas@stkate.edu.
