Khadija's Tragedy: Update

Thanks so much for the generous contributions to help Khadija's cousins. By 6 p.m. Wednesday we had reached $670 in cash/pledges! (See details below.)

Our colleague in custodial services, Khadija Dida, has experienced a deplorable tragedy. Her cousin, a driver for a game park in northern Kenya, was brutally murdered in an attack on Swiss tourists last fall, leaving a widow and four children with no income. Please help Languages and Cross-Cultural Studies faculty collect funds to support the daughter Farida, a third-year college student, and two young sons Yusuf and Mohamed. Public schooling in Kenya is not free. One year of tuition for all three is only $1000. Please call x 1292 to make your pledge or send a check made out to Frankie Shackelford and marked "Khadija's cousins" to CB 27.
