Two International Opportunities for Faculty

Interested in getting involved in international teaching and learning? Please be aware of two upcoming opportunities!

1. Faculty-led Study abroad program proposal forms are now available, if you are interested in teaching a course abroad in 2012-13! The deadline to hand in final proposals is December 15, less than a month away.

Proposal forms are available by visiting the International Programs public drive (under I) in the Augsburg Abroad folder, or by contacting Andrea Dvorak at the information below.

Interested in the idea of teaching abroad, but aren't sure how to make it work? Staff in the Augsburg Abroad office are happy to meet to explain the process for proposing - and leading! - a program, brainstorm ideas that could appeal to students, and review your drafted proposal ahead of the deadline. Contact Andrea Dvorak for more information.

2. Participate in an international learning experience with Augsburg faculty, staff and students June 1-9, 2012! Explore the challenges and complexities of creating peace in El Salvador through US sponsored peace accords by participating in this highly-subsidized experience abroad. A great opportunity to consider ways you might adapt your teaching style and content to a new location, or add new international content to your on campus courses - all while getting to know a group of Augsburg community members in a new way! Made possible with generous support from the Hoversten Peace Endowment.

Flyers with details on how to apply, eligibility, selection criteria, and cost are available by visiting the International Programs public drive (under I) in the Augsburg Abroad folder, or by contacting Andrea Dvorak. The application deadline is February 1, 2012.
