Day Student Permit Sales

Permit sales are here again! Remember, you must be registered for classes in order to purchase a permit. Also, you may purchase your permit ONLY on the day assigned so your class until Sept. 2nd when sales are open to everyone for what is left. Class sales dates and times are listed below. Be sure to get in early to ensure you are able to get a permit!

Event and Conference Planning - Now Hiring

Looking for an exciting on-campus job? The Event and Conference Planning department is looking for qualified work study students who have experience in audio/visual services and general event setup.

The Events team is seeking up to two student employees to serve as Student Event Support Staff during the 2011-12 academic year. Each position will be for 10-20 hours/week. Shifts will include evening and weekend hours as needed for event support. Preference will be given to highly organized and detail-oriented applicants.

Much of what this person will do for the department is set up audio-visual equipment for meetings or events. Having base knowledge of these skills, or the ability to pick up quickly is crucial for a student staffer to be successful in this position.

Essential job duties include, but are not limited to:

Setting up tables, chairs, linen, centerpieces, etc. for campus events
Setting up and troubleshooting audio-visual equipment
Providing general event support
Assisting with general office duties [e.g. scheduling of meeting space, filing, etc.]
Other duties as assigned

Initial registration for courses:
The last day for initial registration for WEC program courses (Fall Trimester) is the last business day before the term begins: Thursday, 8 Sep 2011.

Change of Program from WEC to Day:
The last day to process a change of program from WEC to Day in Fall term and register for one course is Friday, 2 Sep 2011.

Students who have already registered for Fall or have readmitted and registered for Fall, can disregard the above.

If you are not registered or readmitted and registered, you must meet the above deadlines in order to attend Fall term.

To check your current registration, sign into AugNet Records and Registration, then click on Active Courses.

New Refund Schedule for All Augsburg College Programs
Students who withdraw from their courses may be eligible for a refund of a portion of their charges. The refund is based on the percentage of calendar time remaining on the date of the student's official withdrawal from classes. Int'l Student Welcome Dinners Sep 2 - Hosts Needed

This year's group of incoming internationals includes 31 exchange students (27 from Norway, 1 from UIC-China and 2 from the American University of Beirut), 14 first-year and 11 transfer degree-seeking (including Germany, Bangladesh, China, Palestine, Vietnam, Canada, Thailand, Belgium, Sweden, India, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Malaysia).

We're looking for about 8 more Augsburg faculty/staff to host welcome dinners in their homes for 3-5 of these new students. If you're concerned you can't do it alone, partner with another Augsburg colleague! Welcome Dinners is the final event of int'l student orientation, and takes place from about 5:30-7:30 on Friday, Sep. 2. Hosts are responsible for picking up students between 5:00-5:30, and returning them to Augsburg between 7:00-8:00pm.

Garden Work Needed

Looking for a student who enjoys yard/garden work to help move soil and tend to weeds in a garden that has gone somewhat neglected over the summer. I need a day's worth of work (5-8 hours) and will provide I have shovel, pitchfork, wheelbarrow and other tools although no gloves. It would be best if work could be done Thursday or Friday this week (9/25 or 9/26). I am willing to pay $10.00/hr. Please contact Susan Boecher at boecher@augsburg.edu if interested.
