A Protest to Call for Justice for Ahmednur Ali

Hello everyone,

All of you remember what happened to one of our own, Ahmednur Ali (Somali 20Yr Student) last September when he got shot and killed in front of Brian Coyle center. Ahmednur was a second year Augsburg student who was volunteering to help his community at the center when the suspect shot him. The case was still ongoing but it got dismissed last week and the suspect is walking a free man on our streets. The reason being that the investigation was done poorly and eye witnesses backing up last minute. The Minneapolis Police hasn't being able to solve the case of Eight Somali Murders on our city including Ahmed's. No justice has prevailed for Ahmednur's killer and all the other ones.

We together can demand Justice and good investigating from the police to keep our streets safe. Ahmednur got killed a few blocks away from this campus and we want to keep this area as safe as we can. My brother died when he was trying to keep this area safe by being a role model to young people who live in cedar-riverside area. Ahmednur always stood UP for justice and it is upon us to take a stand for Justice and got his killer convicted.

Please come and join us this friday the 12th between the hours of 3-5pm in front of the Minneapolis city hall downtown to DEMAND Justice. Come and speak up for Ahmednur and taking action to stopping violence.

Here are some links you can read about the case being dismissed:
